Several Muslim Countries Ban Black Ops 2 Says Shows Countries as Terrorist Havens

Many Islamic Nations are considering a complete ban on Covert Operations Games because they say these types of games portray them in a terrible light. Recently Pakistan has banned both Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Medal of Honor: Warfighter for their reported portrayal of the south Asian country as a haven for terrorists. The games which show American Special Forces teams infiltrating, fighting, killing  and even interrogating Islamists has put the games under fire.

Pakistani shop owners have complained that the games suggest the country’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency supports Al Qaeda.

“The problem is that there are things that are against Pakistan and they have included criticism of our army,” said Saleem Memon, president of All Pakistan CD, DVD, Audio Cassette Traders and Manufacturers Association. “They show the country in a very poor light.”

How will this effect the industry? Do you think this ban will get the video game industry to change their stance on these types of games.
