Use rice to dry your cell phone if it becomes wet-Digital Afro

Oh No!!!… Ugggh!!!, are usually what’s said when a person drops their phone in water. My closest friend recently dropped her new iPhone in water and it made me think of  ways to try and help her. For the thousands of people each day that have experienced this terrifying scenario…. Don’t Panic.

*Here’s how to save your cell phone if it ever becomes water logged.

Step One: Take the battery out immediately.

Step Two. Do not touch any of the buttons on the  device (the  buttons stimulate conductivity which is now water logged and can short circuit the device.

Step Three: Get a Tupperware container, and fill it with Rice. (Rice naturally absorbs moisture and will dry out the battery & the phone.)

Step Four: Bury the battery and the phone completely in the rice.

Step Five: Put  the Tupperware lid on the container with the rice and seal it air tight.

Step Six: Leave the phone and battery submerged in the rice for at least 24 hours.

Step Seven: After 24 hours, the phone and the battery should be completely dry. Charge the battery and phone should come back on.
