Rapper Jay-Z surprised fans Sunday night in a Samsung commercial that aired during game five of the NBA Finals by announcing a new album called Magna Carta Holy Grail. The commercial was a bit vague as to what exactly this meant for Jay-Z fans or Samsung owners, so allow us to re introduce it.

What It Means

Samsung Galaxy Smartphone users will be able to download an app on June 24 that will allow the first 1 million users to unlock the Jay-Z’s 12th album for free July 4 at 12:01 a.m., 72 hours ahead of release.

“We don’t have any rules; everybody is trying to figure it out,”  “That’s why the Internet is like the Wild West, the Wild Wild West. We need to write the new rules.”

“The album is about, this duality of how do you navigate through this whole thing, through success, through failures, through all this and remain yourself,” Jay-Z tells his collaborators.

The deal is reportedly worth $20 Million.

Samsung released this promo picture to give more insight on the joint venture.
